Bahaikipedia turns 2 years old today, discovered as necessary in Santa Cruz, conceptualized and started in Fresno, built throughout the night and early morning hours of Encino, California and now it reaches over 2,000 people from 110 countries each month.
Throughout the last two years and with the help of valuable contributions from a small group of dedicated and interested users we have contributed 45,819 edits to 8,761 pages and uploaded 1,027 images, including those from Commons.
Much of the content you see today on Bahaikipedia has come from Wikipedia, not enough credit can be given to the individuals who undertook the process of writing these articles and it is my hope that once Bahaikipedia attracts a dedicated group of editors that articles on Wikipedia relating to the Bahá’í Faith will begin to expand and blossom as well. There is room for tremendous growth in this area and it doesn't take a special person to begin the process, just a desire and willingness to try and improve as you go.
Bahaikipedia has been lucky to attract these kind of people and found itself grow from an English only project to having versions in Chinese, French, German, Portuguese and Russian, including these we find ourselves with another 700 articles and 5,000 edits. It's easy to get distracted online, but people are searching for information on the Bahá’í Faith and we need your help to provide it. Can you open a new language or write an article? Can you help proof-read or provide suggestions?
